The epitome of class and elegance for any lady or gentleman, the Colonial cape first appeared in England in the late 18th century and remained an essential garment until the turn of the 20th century. This cape is made from 100% acetate velvet or 100% polyester crushed velvet and lined in satin. Ankle-length and mantled (mantle not lined). Fastened in front by one large pewter clasp or three small pewter clasps - your choice. Acetate velvet is dry-clean only and not meant for rugged use - fabric and colors are lush and dramatic. Polyester crushed velvet is wash cold, hang dry, and steam for wrinkles - colors are rich and multi-toned - good durability. Medium weight.
