Medieval clergyman traditionally wore this cloak hooded and mantled. It slipped over the head and tied at the waist by a leather belt or rope. Not until the Tutor age did the cloak open in front - most likely for fashion more than necessity. This cloak is made from 100% acetate velvet or 100% polyester crushed velvet and lined in satin. Three-quarter length (mid-calf) with a generous Druid-style hood. Cloak has open sleevelets at the sides for greater movement. Fastened in front by one large pewter clasp or three small pewter clasps - your choice. Acetate velvet is dry clean only and not meant for rugged use - fabric and colors are lush and dramatic. Polyester crushed velvet is wash cold, hang dry, and steam for wrinkles - colors are rich and multi-toned - good durability. Medium weight. S&H is included in the price for the 48 continental US states.
